Located in a loft in the heart of NYC’s Garment District, Theaterlab offers unique, artsy decor combined with modern amenities and highly flexible setup. Our rental spaces include the white-box theater and the intimate gallery with tons of natural light.Â

The space has been recently renovated and upgraded, comes with a regularly inspected modern HVAC system, FDA-approved air purifiers, and is equipped with WIFI and a professional lighting and sound system. Both 3rd-floor spaces can be rented with an additional greenroom/coat check space and reception area (extra charges apply). Amenities include two gender-neutral bathrooms. Chair seating can be arranged depending on the renter’s needs. Theaterlab is accessible by a freight elevator. Rates and packages may vary based on type of booking.

Theater

The Atelier on the 4th Floor
Main space: 20′ x 38.5′
Separate green room: 8′ x 8′
The Atelier is a recently acquired studio located on the 4th Floor in the same building, directly above our gallery space. This 840 sqf open studio is perfect for large companies rehearsals, and workshops. It is quiet, private, well lit with natural light, and ventilated with 2 windows and an A/C unit. The layout features and all open space, a connected room with a door, one private restroom, and a lobby area. The space is flexible, with multiple seating configurations available.

TLAB Shares
Built in January 2013 with an original design by our artistic director Orietta Crispino, our full floor loft in the Garment District is a flexible space where Theaterlab hosts, presents and produces Theater, Dance and New Media . The signature stark beauty of the white box spaces is a fertile ground for experimental new work. Through TLAB SHARES, our curated rental program, we invite guest artists to produce work at affordable rates. Theaterlab reviews and selects all TLAB SHARES artists based on the Company’s compatibility with Theaterlab’s mission and aesthetic, a proven history of artistically ambitious productions, and a vision for utilizing our white box Theater and Gallery in a way that supports and elevates their work. We believe that being good hosts to artists and audience alike is the best way we can enrich and support New York’s Off-Broadway theater.
