Calling all artists!
Seeking Round the Block! tour guides
Meet us April 8th at 4:30pm in front of 520 8th Ave
With the warming up of the season and the city’s slow but sure reopening, we are very excited to be preparing another edition of our program Round the Block! Theaterlab is currently seeking new artists to add to its roster of paid Tour Guides who lead audiences through our neighborhood on performance dates.
Now in its third year, Round the Block! is a promenade-style performance event where audiences are guided around the Garment District to see short pieces of music, theater, and visual art and meet some of the diverse businesses and creators who call the neighborhood home. The event is a chance to gather together, open the senses and discover the vibrancy and creativity of the Garment District while strengthening our connections with our neighbors. This year, we want to focus on the idea of craft, using it to explore both the history and the ever evolving tenancy of one of New York’s most diverse neighborhoods.
Join us!
Friday, April 8th at 4:30 pm we will be hosting a sample Round the Block! tour for artists interested in participating in the program either as paid guides or performers. We would love to see you there! We will start outside with a mini tour around the neighborhood to meet some of the artist and business participants and then meet back at Theaterlab to gather together, answer your questions, have a surprise meeting with a visiting creator and enjoy some light refreshments.
We hope you can come join us, and bring a friend if you know someone who may be interested in participating too!
We will meet in front of 520 8th avenue at 4:30 pm to begin the tour. If you’re running late, you can meet us directly at Theaterlab, 357 W. 36th St. at 5:00 for the presentation and performance.
Please RSVP at tlabprograms@gmail.com if you can make it. We’re excited to see you there!
