Traveling Solo: Touring Solo Shows Domestically and Abroad
In addition to Slovenian solo artist Tjasa Ferme, writer and performer of Wild Child in the City, panelists will include:
Ana Margineanu – Romanian immersive theatre director and co-founder of PopUP Theatrics
Erwin Maas – Theater/opera director, teacher, and international performing arts advocate from the Netherlands who has worked extensively in Australia, Europe and South Africa
Elizabeth Hess – Writer and performer whose solo works have won awards both in the United States and abroad.
Sylvia Milo – Performer, playwright and producer whose award-winning solo play The Other Mozart has toured the US and Europe and is currently playing at the Players Theatre with three actresses in rotation (More info below)
The “Traveling Solo” panel will particularly appeal to those looking to better understand the logistics, the joys and travails and the creative challenges of traveling with a one-person show.
We’ll discuss questions such as how traveling internationally changes the perception of solo work, thoughts on finding audiences in unfamiliar places, and how a show’s structure and content may help or hinder its ability to find venues.
Tickets are available for Wild Child in the City at 5pm HERE.
If you are unable to attend the performance, but would like to attend the panel discussion, please RSVP at Theaterlab36@gmail.com.
